I have tried WD-40 , brakeclean, lacquer thinner, gasoline, etc..!!! This stuff is like crazy...especially around the old edge of the stickers where dirt got underneath and has formed a hard ridge... Can not use anything abrasive... Any ideas? Thanks all and have a great day !
Goo Gone and fine Bronze wool. You can get bronze wool at some hardware stores and most boat supply stores. The bronze wool should not scratch, but as always try it on a spot like the bottom of the bumper first. If it is on a painted surface a white scotchbrite pad and Krud Cutter cleaner available at most paint stores. KK
WOW ! Thanks for all of the ideas ... I am simply amazed of the knowledge on this site ! Any more? Might try a couple just to see what works the best.
If you've already gotten the sticker off, try Goo Gone to remove the residue. A heat gun works like a charm for removing the sticker. "Goof Off" removes paint. Goo Gone does not, but it removes adhesive.
a wacky idea from all the above - cooking oil. plain cooking oil like sunflower or Mazola will soften glue. if upright on bumper; wet a wiping cloth and soak it. Then a good rubbing with the wet cloth. Will soften many types of glue.
Use a eraser wheel, cost around$15, put in your drill at low speed, it will remove all the glue in less than 5 minutes.
The one that just won't seem to come off says..... This is your brain " GM FORD DODGE " This is your brain on drugs " toyota nissan, honda" Gonna have to leave it on I guess..
3m woodgrain and adhesive remover works like a charm , haven't been able not to remove any yet with this stuff , most bodyshops have a can of the stuff , a couple of bucks for some on a rag will take care of it instead of buying a whole can at $20 , I just removed some decal gum with goo gone , and a hair dryer , heat it up first till its warm to the touch then wipe the goo gone on it and it softens hardened adhesive up in a couple of seconds .
Wasn't there a thread a while back about the magic of dryer sheets? Hahahaha!!! But seriously, those Mr. Clean magic erasers can do some amazing things, plus, most folks have at least one of them in the kitchen.
3M used to sell two compounds, one to take off the sticker and one to remove the glue. Don't know if they still do haven't used any in several years.
Hillary ha ha , somehow I'm not seeing the whole story here , you most have a different definition of a bumper than me , I guess because I use Mules to work
