I actually need help Id'ing a couple of bodies. I stumbled across a couple cars and I'm just curious what they are and want to know for sure since I asked a few friends and got as many different answers. #1 I think is a 35ish chevy sedan? #2 I think is a mid 30s ford coupe?
Body is Chevy Master going by rear fenders. Standard rear fenders are not as full, shape wise. 35s I think had tailpan as part of body, 34s didn't but could be other way round? Depression in firewall for engine gives it away as a Chevy.
Nice fine you need to save both ! one way to spot a chevy a mile away is that moon shape rear window. as for the race car 37 mopar .needs saving even if she is left as . very cool Love to get her on the dirt! check body lines on my old 37 Dodge . Same as the Jalopy stock car.
THE SEDAN IS A 1934 CHEVY MISSING THE REAR SPLASH PANEL. 1935 DIDN'T HAVE A PANEL, IT WAS ALL SOLID BETWEEN THE FENDERS.
Save both for sure. That stock car would be sweet sitting in front of my barn, great yard art if its rotation.
I believe that you are correct. The '34 flipped forward and the '35 flipped back toward the windshield.
I hate to say it but I think the stock car is bound for the scrapper. They've slowly been stock piling old washers and stuff around it. I've tried enquiring about it several times with no luck. It's behind an old run down mechanics shop in a very small town. The town used to have a circle track out on the city limits that shut down a very long time ago from what I've been told. It's now a cornfield, but you can still see the shape of it even when the corn is up.
I hate to hear of history going to the scrap yard, and I hate to see it at scrap yard. That thing can still fling dirt, and would make a grown man a happy lad.
I'd give them more for that Plymouth then they will ever get from the scrap yard. They would probably be lucky to get $50 for it these days, can't weigh more then 1000 lbs. We have an old dirt track here that was turned into a corn field a couple years ago! Gene
