  7. If this would have been the 55 chevy looking for Milner, he would have soiled his shorts. LOL! The car is a stunning work of automotive art. Congrats.

That's beautiful, and shows nice. I hope that if I ever get to see it there will be some road rash on the front and rubber chunks on the rear quarters to show its being beat on!

  15. I plan on using the car, but kind of blown away by how many people think I should beat the shit out of my car and how cool it will look with chips, scratches and wear. I guess I never will understand. I like my stuff to stay as nice as possible.

There were so many people this last weekend at the show that felt the need to tell me I NEED to beat the shit out of my car. Don't get it

I didn't mean to sound like I wanted to see it destroyed. I respect this car and your vision to do it right.
I feel sad when I see cars that are built for fun that sit polished for ever because they are "too nice", and if they are driven, it's on or off a trailer with the owner living in fear of a bug landing on it. I knew a guy who spent six figures on a beautiful show car Hemi GTX. And after its run around the shows, he enjoyed it around town and at the track, like he always intended. He didn't neglect it, kept it polished and detailed. The rubber chunks and few chips were what authenticated the car, and that was awesome. I also have a few acquaintances with awesome, beautiful cars that have never been on the road, sitting on carpet in the "shop" and getting worn out by the duster running over the paint if the cover comes off. I know the thread has said you are going to drive it and that's awesome, I would love to get passed by that car on a narrow road street race or old time drag track and seeing your grin as you do it.

You don't need to beat the shit out of that thing man. You just need to RACE the shit out of that thing!

Car gets lifetime free admission to the HAMB Drags.

Couple of trips down the track and a burn out or 2.just make sure you get it on film. The polish till you cant stand it anymore.
Dont have to beat on it for anyone.

No need to 'drive it like you stole it', just drive it like you own it!

    Arnold.

  22. Its like having new furniture in the house and you have kids... good luck. You spent a mint on the car, take care of it, plain and simple. It will get it's licks from just general careful use.

  23. I once read that u smear Vaseline on your rear quarters before lighting up those tyres, and the rubber chunks wipe straight off afterwards.
    Just saying....

I think those folks just mean they want to see it get driven hard and used as that style of car was originally intended. Not live the garaged, trailered, show car pampered lifestyle. I'd say you got a hell of a car there and enjoy it however you want.
