Trailer -Ed looks like you are not far south from me maybe on the trip up could be a caravan.

Okay for you whiny guys and you garages. I have a 10X20 canopy to build my junk in and as you know ani't no small cars in my fleet. But hope that will change next year.

Not too much yet, I finally got my header flanges for my subplates. On Pontiac d ports there isn't much room for larger tubes, and the sub plates attatch to the head first and make the bolt pattern easier to get headers on and off.

I have learned some new words putting headers on a Pontiac.

  7. You had me at "hello, here's my Anglia". Now you tell us your building a Prefect for your son to run too.., I'm truly speechless.., for maybe the third time in my life. When you showed us your Henry J, I was thinking, "cool car, but this guy doesn't quite get what the Meltdown is all about. Well sir, you get it.., in spades! I'm wondering now, if the Henry J introduction was a clever guise to see if the Period Police were gonna tear you up, instead of help you up? Another lesson in "don't judge the book by the cover".

Hey Ric what is the C/R of them 09 pistons inquiring minds whats to know?
If it's super secret that's okay I understand.

  9. Well, I got a kick in the shins for showing that "almost finished" Solid Works model, so I might get a titty twister if I divulge the compression ratio. Lets just say, its ALOT:1

I am on the hunt for the 09 crank that the machinist gives the nod to. But the good thing is we are not to the bottom of the pile yet.

I have a solution! You could sell the Anglia to me, then you'll be able to afford all the period correct wheels for the J that you can get your hands on! Even some mags! :D Why didn't I think of this yesterday???

Hey Guys, I just posted this for sale on the HAMB classifieds:
2X4 vintage single plane Edelbrock manifold with 2 600 cfm Edelbrock carbs. Complete with linkage. I had this set up on the White Noise Altered Wheelbase Nova before I put stack injection on it. The Nova ran great with this set up. I wanted to let you all know just in case someone needed it for the Meltdowns. My bottom dollar is $500. I can ship it if you pay those costs. Thanks manifold1.png manifold5.png manifold7.png

Jeff, yes their powder coated. Have a friend Rich Londberg who does powder coating. He uses Cerakote or Tech Line. Heat range depends on color. 1500 degrees or 2000 degrees... His oven is 8' tall - 4' wide & 4' deep. Told me Headers 3/4 cured, have to bolt up & start engine to finish them off... lives between Spring Grove & Richmond, IL, just off 12... Let me know if you want to talk to him, give ya cell number... Jeff it's gotta be better than the rattle can!

I think Cerakote is actually a Ceramic Coating. Lots of powder coat guys also do ceramic. But standard powder coat will not survive exhaust temperatures, only good to around 600 degrees or so.

Yes, Dad and I are both registered. We were both registered last year also but we threw in the towel in June when we could see that Dad's car wasn't going to get done. That is not a worry this year as we are a few weeks from having it DONE! I am planning on driving the wagon up.
