I am in the finishing stages of restoring a 1952 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup and would appreciate any information as to where I might purchase an aftermarket chrome bumper as well as a rear roll pan. I have seen several pictures online of early 50's Dodge pickups with really nice chrome bumpers and roll pans but am not run down where they were purchased. I can build a roll pan if necessary, but sure would like to know what bumpers would fit my project. Any information you could pass my way will be much appreciated. Thanks, Steve
you may want to try this forum http://p15-d24.com/forum/4-p15-d24-forum/ Are you talking about reproduction bumpers for your model truck? Maybe these people can help? http://restorationpartssource.com/store/MOPAR_Dodge Truck.htm http://www.robertsmotorparts.com/st...-trucks-1948-1949-1950-1951-1952-1953-1-1-1-1 http://vintagemoparts.com/product.php?id_product=24 http://www.dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/know.htm I know early Dodge truck stuff is totally not as easy as Chevy or Ford, but Im sure you will get pointed in the right direction with any of those links.
Abe, Thanks for the info. I will check out the links that you have provided. I am looking for a reproduction bumper but not so sure that one is made for the front but again have seen pictures online of some early 50's Dodge pickups with what appears to be an aftermarket bumper.
The chrome bumper I had on my 50 Dodge was an original factory bumper. I don't believe I've ever seen an aftermarket chrome bumper specifically for a Dodge truck. Reality is, the truck won't much care where the bumper came from or what it was intended for. With some bracket modification, bumpers for a Ford or other truck can be put on your Dodge. Other brand trucks have more options then your going to find for your Dodge. Gene
I have seen several Pilothouse trucks using '49 Plymouth bumpers. If you want chrome, they look good, and natural on Pilothouse trucks.
