Technical Early Chevy DOHC head

Here's one from the archives! Does anyone out there have any information on what this might have been? It's bolted to an early Chevy inline six engine. A friend of a friend asked me to look into it. No one knows if this is just a one off or whatever but it looks like it has a chain case up front with some type of plain fuel injectors like an early Hilborn style.

I can't help you but WOW! That is some set-up, I'm going to follow this I'm interested also.

I believe the 5 freeze plugs mark it as a GMC enging, not a Chevy. It looks like the Wayne Hourning DOHC GMC built to run at Indy that never qualified. I think he only built the one, but made several 12 port pushrod heads.

I'm very familiar with Chevy/GMC (235 and up cu in) and your pic is bad ass! 12 port Wayne heads are one thing, but holy S..., that's cool!
