History 1941 Ford and Mercury - 75th anniversary! let's see 'um!

Well it's the 75th anniversary of the 1941 Ford and Mercurys, so if ya have one or just love them - let's see a pic and hopefully a bit of written detail.
Stock, Hopped Up, mild or wild customs - they are all tops!

 

Starting with my old 41 Hop Up - it's an original period mild custom started in '41 and finished in late '47 by my grand pops

 

My dad bought his in '57 for $65. Had to put a clutch and radiator on it and she was good to go. Has owned the car for all this time. Mainly has sat in a garage since 1967. Today we are working to finish the 41 project. Can't wait to get it back out on the road. Luckily found many NOS parts for the restoration.

 

I've had mine for 22 yrs. 302/C-4, 2:75 9", stock front suspension. Have traveled from Maine to Florida,
NY to Michigan and Missouri. Has almost 300,000 mi on frame and body. Has never let us down.

Jimmy - those Utes are super cool looking, a shame they did not offer in the USA.

At least there are a few there now.

The '41 ute were built from 4 doors. The Army confiscated a shipment during ww2 and had the Australian Ford factory convert them to utes for military use that is why the roof looks funny it was a rush job.

Found this one up north.
It had been sitting since 1963.
Within 3 months of getting it home, we were running around the
city under the coupes own power from it's 89,000 mile Flathead V8.

Here's mine I love the 41. I think they get overlooked .But that's my opinion.

My 1941 Ford pickup and myself in 1971 when I was 12 in Rogue River, OR....I still have it, ....major project now in my garage, but it has a lot of memories for me. My grandfather gave it to me to 'work on myself' till I was 16 and could get a drivers license....and then helped me get it ''properly'' driveable for high school. He was a fantastic ''old school'' mechanic, and I learned a lot from him! I drove that 41' Ford to my prom (with a date)...my track meets, and my part time jobs hauling trash in it, and delivering papers early in the morning (6 volt woes abounding), and the regular winter struggles to get it started ....but, I love my old truck, and look forward to getting it back on the road again within' the next year or two! --- Ray

Our 1941 Fordolete. 350/350 Chevy, Camaro rear and subframe. Traded a piece of crap '49 Ford even up for it. Really didn't want the '41 Ford, hated the interior and color. But hated Pinky even more! Surprisingly it's been a nice dependable driver since early 2000's.
Stock gauges didn't work so made a custom dash with later guages.

My 4 door build is aimed at an Early kustom, original drivetrain, lowered, dual spots, one pieced hood and shaved & shortened trim. Skirts are at Garlands Sacramento getting reshaped, paint real soon....

Boy what are the chances? Two blue 41 Merc 4 drs owned by Hambers and posted in a row.

 

So this is mine I got it last july locally. It came w a small block, auto, 10 bolt gm rear, cheesy bucket seats, worked on it all summer fixed the exhaust straightened out the wiring, reverse eye leaf, new shocks carb starter alternator and battery. plenty more to do should keep busy till it gets cold again.

 

I took the front bumper off also I like it better without it

Ditched the fogs and painted side grilles for the guards and she looks happier now

 

Man that is one cool 41 Sedan! You plans are solid, going to look the part too

1941 Sedan Delivery Survivor. Runs and Drives. Previous owners bought a farm in Wisconsin years ago and this was in the barn!
