I bought my first set of headers from Rich Maskin off that car, Mr. Js brand. They were 32" 1 3/4" primaries. Sure made my 301 SBC sing. How did that work? Supposedly, that was a 'Canadian Pontiac' that came with the SBC. I was told later that that was a bogus deal and although the frame was the same as a tri-five Chevy, they didn't have Chevy engines. I don't know how much of that is true, but I like the story.

Tommy Ivo......... What more can you say about such a Multi Talented, well liked fellow?
If Tommy didn't live "The Dream" that many of us would like to have had a chance at when we were young, I can't think of who might have done it better, or had a better time while doing it.
Truly one of "The" Pioneers of the time.
Oh, I would love to have all the Nailheads that he had too! :)

I agree, Ivo was a racer, from the time he trophied with his mother's Buick stocker at Saugus to his retirement (when he burned his gloves on the starting line), he did it all. He learned how to build Buicks from Max Balchowski, Chryslers from Dave Zeuschel, and chasses from Kent Fuller. He probably towed more miles than almost every other racer except Garlits, and always put on a show. He was not driven to win like Garlits and Prudhomme (except that he LOVED to beat the Snake), but he was fearless...after dumping his RED in the lights and totally destroying it, he wondered if there was enough left to make another run....

It is Ivo, his twin Buick car with one injected and one blown Buick. The injected Buick was Ivo's, while the blown Buick came out of Tony Nancy's gas modified roadster. Ivo was trying to set the gas dragster record, which I believe he did, at San Fernando. Here is another picture of it at San Fernando, Ivo at left.
