Long before Bluto (zero point zero) and the gang invaded Cottage Grove, Buster Keaton filmed most of his masterpiece "The General" there. Both are among my favorite films... the other of course is Animal House for the youngsters in the group.

Probably only remembered by the locals, but in the early 80's, I raced my shifter kart on that very Cottage Grove street. Quite an experience when you get to do it legally.

Spitting image of my High School sweetheart - except that she drove a red Mustang. Wonder where she is now? (the Mustang, that is...)

Maggie from one Northwest kid to another, thank you so much for posting the wonderful photos.

Seattle WA. looking South at the Alaska Way Via Duct. Art Deco ferry Kalakala can be seen upper right. After her service was done she was towed to Alaska, beached and used as a cannery for many years. She was eventually brought back to Seattle with hi hopes of conversion to an attraction of some sort. Like a lot of big projects of this type money and time were not on her side. Sadly not to long ago she was scrapped. Rumor has it she was bit of a handful and a had penchant for tearing up docks and pilings!
