They didn't call him TV Tommy for nothing!
(I wonder how many violins they wore out scoring that show?)

  3. Not sure how I missed that episode from my youth. Some great cars there.

Tom Rettig (sp?) would show up at San Fernando with a hot '57 Ford from time to time,

damn Hot Rodders - killing animals, blocking roads for racing - in the 20's they would have stopped and taken the racoon roadkill to help make a coat and put tail on antenna - that Cop by the barricade sure jumped into action with a dog attacking TVT - what model is the farm truck? - looks like 1 ton wheels on a short bed? LA Roadsters cars?

I rewound it several times trying to see (unsuccessfully) if Ivo's car had a nailhead in it.
If not, it's no wonder Lassie was upset.

I think it is PETA and I have started a new chapter in Australia. I call it "People Eating Tasty Animals".

  18. You can see the Tom McMullen roadster in a couple scenes, probably owned by Don Hudson at that time though.

Couldn't have been TV Tommys car- no nailhead! The Dodge 1 ton looks like a 58 or 59. Chrysler supplied the vehicles for the show at that time. In the early shows the family had a shoebox Ford. and yes wiseasses, I'm getting old!

I was old enough at the time of that episode to think the show was lame...

As a kid, I always thought the wheels on that truck were cool.

Thanks Camino Kid that was great. Interesting drag strip. Is that really the way it was back then? No surprise there was street racing. They were lining up seconds after the Lassie team drove through the gates at the end. Crazy times. Also seemed the law was there as well overseeing things. Again was this typical? I have read of drag racing starting on derelict airfields.

If you slow it down and play it backwards, you will see June kill the racoon with a .22. She didn't like it running around the kitchen. The hot rodder was framed.

All was not in vain as Mellonhead lived on keeping Daniel's head protected in the rugged wilderness...

HAHA I picked up a Disney tagged coon skin cap at a yard sale not long ago.
The other day it was coolish in the garage and instead of going in and getting a beanie, I just put it on.
Tammy came out and almost spilled my lunch.
I was building the 223 for the 61 Galaxie,,,,,,,,,,so its traditional.
