Projects Can my 50 F-1 be or become a real hot rod...

This was not a well thought out post and it was incomplete. I was under some stress at the time I regret it sorry. I am so embarrassed by it.

 

There are two things: Hot rod the noun and hot rod the verb.

So, my answer to you question is that an AV8, a deuce roadster or equivalent coupes etc. that grew out of dry lake racing are hot rods, the noun.

On there other hand, you can most certainly hot rod your truck to make it perform better. That's hot rod the verb.

As I said, that's my answer. The usual shitfight will no doubt follow.

 

Build it, drive it, most of all enjoy it no matter what.

 

It is whatever you want it to be. Forget about what other people think. Just enjoy it!

 

Well, it the context of unfinished business and the consideration of disposing of and purchasing a new....um, wait. What's the question again?

 

? more a statement than a question - we are all different, and have different views on Hot Rods, etc. but, need to do it out of the love you have for them, and not worry about comparing your car/truck to what the next guy has. going for a ride in a beater can sometimes bring more smiles to the miles than a big buck ride does.

My avatar used to be a -48 truck in a former life...if it has been hotrodded or destroyed depends on taste.
It puts a smile on my face and scare the shit out me opening it up wide open...thats good enough for me.
Its not traditional, true to a certain era or built to please the crowd.
