We are starting a dirt drag racing event. That we hope to run monthly weather permitting. And would like to make a top 10 flathead list.

    1/8 mile dirt drags

Rules are pre 1940 cars in a period correct style.
Pre 55 drive train and performance parts

Flatheads of any kind are the main class

Stovebolt 6 interest is high and if enough possibly a class but for now welcome for exhibition runs and grudge racing
Going to say must be 2 bolt valve cover

Not really looking to get into ohv v8s but the right cars may be welcome for grudge and exhibition.

Cars must be period correct and safe no billet no disc brakes and no junk

Races will be held at the orchard in East Windsor NJ.

We did a test run recently and it was great lots of racing. No waiting and most importantly fun

Costs will be kept as low as possible and kids will always be free

I like the idea of a monthly race or even a series, that would be killer! If you are having a top 10 list, will the rail-jobs run a seperate list from the heavier coupes and sedans? Only fair, no?

It would really depend what kind of cars showed up I am thinking the top 10 will be fastest cars. no separate class and brackets can vary on what showed up each event

We don't want to exclude any correct cars we want all the racers to have fun and be competitive no matter how fast or slow. And will try to do brackets to make that happen.

I have no intention on beating up on a bunch of full body cars. With a single seater.

This will be competitive racing and there will be a winner.

Grudge And exhibition racing will be open if someone chooses to not run a class or race across classes.

Outstanding! As great an event as it has become the TROG has gotten expensive, relative to it's roots.

On that show, Chasing Classic Cars, Wayne just went to an event where they raced 1/8 mile on the beach. The cars were very cool and it sure looked like a lot of fun. Somewhere in NJ, as I recall. It might be that Race Of Gentlemen that 56shoebox mentions.

Sounds like your event will be very much the same.

I bet it will be so much better! No fashion show poser dick heads who care more about money then they do hot rods. I would be honored to race if possible.

    But 1/8 mile dirt drags???
Sounds like something I'd build for, if we could do this out west...
Coolest of cool, 2 bolt covered Chevies, flatmotors...some of the cars pictured are the CAT'S ASS!

    Love that video.

Do I have to wear vintage clothes to show up?? I'm a working stiff so I can't afford to look vintage cool. Lol

  26. Do my old T-shirts and jeans from high school 20 years ago that I still wear count as vintage?
