Right, you turn the key and you are moving, no neutral, no reverse

That is the way with a true crackerbox but for play a simple in & out box or a F-N-R box can be added................... Casale, Paragon, etc.

  3. But I'd love to see the reaction. Just tell them its all recycled parts. LOL

If he is turning his engine over 11,000 he had better get his tach recalibrated.

    Her's something I found - an ad for a K.R.W.
Ford Flathead marine conversion from the
October 1941 issue of Popular Mechanics
magazine. I don't know if the engine your
boat uses K.R.W. conversion parts, but I
thought you'd like to see the ad all the
    same! Enjoy. :)

ChopPop raced a Cracker Box named "No Results" in the early 50's. Will have to scan some photos when I get home.

in fact, you can see the nose of it in my avatar pic.

What is needed in adaptors or machine work when the power is taken off the front of the motor? What is done to or at the crank snout? Splining? Multiple woodruff keys? Other?

  15. Cracker from Bellflower with nail-head. Was direct drive and originally had water cooled exhaust. The ex.manifolds cracked so a trip to Gene's Muffler, for a set of zoomies fixed that.

  16. Here are a couple of pictures of one I lettered several years ago. The owner's father built it from plans in 1955 and he learned to water ski behind it in the late 50's and early 1960's somewhere in upstate New York. It originally had a flathead in it but when he got the boat to restore the flathead was junk. It has since been replaced with a Capri 2.8l V-6. He says two people can fit in the cockpit(maybe if they were 10 years old). JennyB01.jpg JennyB05.jpg JennyB08.jpg JennyB011.jpg

Cracker looks more like a Buick exhaust set up than a Chevy.

Man that is cool !!! Thanks VLG !! Bet it was fast, and sounded great. Damn cool use of a Buick.

  24. This nail head has the marine gear to drop into a future cracker project. Rough condition but who cares, right? Its only money. Would be cool with a stack injector and some white zoomies? Maybe pulling it with a big window '56.
