So, the holidays played hell on my coverage... Keith is just about done with final on this thing... and I've missed a shitload... Steering column fit, wheel installed, dash, gauges, etc...

Also... had to roll the car out of the shop this morning to take a few shots for an art project. Lighting was harsh, but here's the results:

Lew Thompson... In the 1940s... You could give him your opinion directly, but I'd bet you would end up with your ass kicked. :)

  17. Man I love that color. It's crazy how it looks different shades of blue/green. In some of the photos even different panels don't look the same color.

I love it Ryan. It looks to me like the fuel line was run in rubber all the way ? Do you mind telling me what type of hose and the size of hose that was used ? It looks really good..

Not sure if I missed something or not ...but when you listed the 5spd winters and new style chassis it was because it was going to be driven ...are the coolant hoses comming off after GNRS and a radiator getting put in to make the car streetable?

Not that you need another 5spd comment ...but I have a roadster with a 296 flat motor and a 39 box 40 rear 3.78 gear

... I helped put together a twin car together except had a t-5 ... I thought I would like it.... I tried .... I hate it ... That old clunky hot rod feel is gone ... And i felt like i was driving a peterbuilt ... shifting all the time ...I will say the overdrive on the freeway was nice though

  21. Did Gene Winfield sneak in a fade on the center of the dash? I assume this differs from the original version? The car is looking beautiful! I can't wait to see it in person in a few weeks!

Man @Ryan the shots on today's coverage are pretty cool. Did you ever once think while the building was going up or while the sign was being painted that so many bad mother fuckers* would be staying under that roof or being shot in front of that sign?

It's pretty special I think that in 50
Years when people look at the photos they'll be able to tell that it was from the atomic era of Rex rods by the signage like many are dated today by whatever was hanging on the shop in photos from 60 years ago.

*is there really any other way to cover anything Keith touches other than that?

So much chrome......I wonder why they didn't go with chrome water pumps? Also, I think it would have been cool, kinda custom/different if Keith had chopped of the water pump pulleys and welded up the shaft holes, then chromed them. Just an idea......

Would have made cooling the car when they put a radiator in it kinda hard with no pulleys?

Edit: also because it's a restoration, well "restoration" and that's how they appear on the cover and that's what they are shooting for with the display at the show
