The above '64 Chevy is STILL ON THE ROAD in restored condition ! Ordered from the dealership with a 327" 4-speed and 4:11 rear. Bill Gibbons was owner "back in the day".
Yes, it's owned by a good friend of mine. Top notch restoration and is for sale. He preserved the win stickers from Old Bridge on the 1/4 glass. Original owner then Original owner recently
I was really good friends with ralph, he was a good guy, he passed a few years ago. his last car was a '56 chevy sedan delivery still called the politician that he raced up at ubly dragway in michigan till he passed, it was running 10.80's and ralph was all about getting everything as light as he could and it was funny, he made the roll bar in his car out of muffler tubing so it would be light and had a cafeteria plastic seat in it ! he was a good guy.
Hey ZEPH4057K how about showing us more pics of your 55,I am in love with that car, By the way I have been following your Willys coupe build, NICE!!!
Told myself I would stop reading this thread at page 396. But I can't. Guess it's like watching a campfire. It would be a lot easier if you guy's would stop posting such neat stuff.
Extra rollout baby! You can leave earlier on the tree without going red, and if your tied spindle to spindle with the guy in the other lane, and your tire is taller, you hit the finish line first.
With the amount of front end lift on that 58 Delivery, the tires are going to naturally appear taller, as there is no compressive weight on the tire; the left front is almost, if not off, the pavement. It's a tall tire to start with, even taller without the weight on the car on it. Then there's the wrinkle wall slick phenomenon; wrinkles under on launch becoming effectively shorter, thereby functioning as a lower gear ratio; then at speed the tire grows, again changing the gear ratio. It's really obvious with the fuel cars; the tires become a sort of perpetual ratio transmission. The old M/T Challenger slicks used to grow enough to rub the leading edge of the wheel wells on my old 56, 150 Bracket Car, but sitting still, there was inches of clearance. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
hi there! sure, I would love to, I have about 6 gassers now and I really love building these things! heres a few pictures when I put my 406 in the car ,the 327 didn't have enough kick !! the pictures loaded up backwards, I included a picture of my '66 nova 1966- 1967 era build.
Like many of us, you also need some "couch time" with a therapist ! All the cars look great. The building is the best part. Once one gets done, it's on to the next.
