The car is long gone but I drove the wheels off, the quick change locker worked great! 1939 Ford.jpg

Making the drive back from Utah to texas . Have seen more snow in 3 days than 30 years in Austin. Beautiful. Parked here outside Moab at the arches state park. Slack jawed beauty. 'Merika sure is amazing. Happy New Years all

This was the first time my 55 was in the snow in 32 years. I had to pull it out of the garage to fix the inlaws minivan. Overnight we had this snow/ice storm.[IMG]

I just had some fun with my Studebaker in the front of my old barn. I have driven many hundred miles during winter time with A Model.

  6. IMG_20160101_0001.jpg When we lived in Montana. Temp was somewhere below 0 . Fresh air heat doesn't offer much heat at this temp. I had just installed a new waterpump on the '51 Hudson and then took it for a spin.

My 47 from a few years ago, Must have been very early in the winter from the look of the amount of snow. A 4x4 makes a much more enjoyable drive this time of year.

  12. I hear the Sierras are getting pounded with snow. Three years ago I went across Donner pass when I went out to San Fran to pick up our '47. I've lived in SD, MT and now CO and I had never seen so much snow. Honestly can't believe I made it. One fellow at a gas station in Truckee thought I was nuts to be pulling a trailer in that mess. I just wish I had a camera with me on that trip.

Thats an interesting photo. I'm pretty sure thats a 32 with the frame bobbed, tank removed sorta Model A style. Cool car (no pun intended). He is driving it too. Timeless look...Thanks

If you want to see more of that car, and Jack's other ones, click on the link below and read the story I wrote on Jack for HRD. Here is a teaser.

  24. Marty, now that is a historic picture you posted! WOW!

  25. What a great story! Thanks. Jack was one hell of a guy! Everyone on the HAMB should read this. I always think hot rodding really started later. (very late 40's) This is shows all the pioneers of the trade. Thanks Again!
