  6. I have just finished watching the new 3 mile DVD that I received as gift for Christmas and now I have worked out who Dennis is? and the style you have followed with this coupe that was obviously influenced by the rolling bones crew that have a great style of building a real hotrod. Great build....

To the 37kid glad to hear the boxing plates worked out for you.
So glad to see my good friend 33Cully is still on board with this build and approves what I have been doing, as he is a great craftsman.
    509garyd glad you like it.
I received some original style webbing for the firewall and grill shell that the hood sets on for Christmas and was wondering do you guys that do this a lot install it all in one section at the fire wall or split it at the center hood bracket? Also it comes with some small metal tabs and attachment spread rivet type fasteners. Do they go over the webbing or under it? They have like a 90 at the ends that is rounded and that is what is throwing me off. Looks like they are for the ends only. Any help ????
HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS & GALS

Mine are split at the firewall and grill shell. If you roll the fabric through that rough old dirty slip roller I gave you they will flatten down nice, and put some dirt on them like yesteryear would have done. DSC09560.JPG DSC09561.JPG

Dennis, from the posts the car is looking good. I will have to get over one weekend and check it out

  16. OLDSMAN, Please do stop by the shop and I will buy you a cold one.
bigdeuce, That is what I was thinking that needed to be done with the webbing. I see you just used the fasteners to attach it and not the metal clips in the photos you posted. Did you use them at the ends of the webbing?

If you look at the photos I sent you, I did use the provided hardware. The fabric needs to have the ends fastened so that you can stretch the material to hook the clips, and still have it relax and be tight. I spent some time on mine, dont rush through it.

  18. Firewall & grill shell webbing installed & column mounted. Started hooking up the steering joints and double "D" shaft, so it won't be long and it will have a way to direct it. Lot's of other smalls as we all know about. Hopefully I will start wiring this week. One of those things I am not good at.

    New update:
Here you go guys just so you don't think I have been screwing off. It
has steering now and hood sides hung. Building floor boards and
transmission tunnel, plus brackets for the hood hold downs today. It is
really starting to look like a hot rod to me.
Wiring is the next bid step and then I will be able to fire it
off......Still need to do some grill shell to hood adjustments though.
    Hope you like it.
