Hot Rods The 4 Banger hot rod picture thread.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Hitchhiker, Nov 3, 2015.

  1. Well, I've noticed a lot of banger powered cars going together lately. At least for me, stock engine designed hot rodded model A and T's have a certain look I really love. This thread is open to all Model A, T, B or other brand vehicles. As long as they have a 4 cylinder under the hood. I know they say 8 for show and 4 for Gow. But lets post some glamour shots and show that a 4 banger still has the IMG_20151027_142048.jpg look!

  2. Hitchhiker,
This one has a 181 cubic inch Mercruiser Marine. The last picture I shot out at the LA Roadster show. A very nice Thomas equipped Model A banger. What engine do you have (or plan to put in) in yours?

  4. Glad to see your back on the road with your truck. Here's my junk although I don't think either really qualifies as a hot rod.

  5. Right now it's a stock engine. I have another engine with a Winfield 7:1 head, SU1A cam and a winfield B downdraft to go in it. But I am kinda starting to think about keep that for a roadster and finding a police head for this one.

  6. 2 carbs? thats a hot rod!!

I will play. My coupe is coming slowly along. I hope to have it finished next spring. There are lots more pics of what I have been doing in my build thread in my signature.

  10. There was a large Model T gathering this summer in a nearby town.
Mostly stockers, but this was the most HotRod one in the bunch.
    Didn't get a chance to talk with the owner. IMG_20150715_141739.jpg IMG_20150715_141747.jpg IMG_20150715_141819.jpg

Here's some hot rod Model A's from St. Paul. First, Gary Anderson's 1931 Flying A Garage four carb pickup. This one sports a Weiand head and four 97's for show (with two for go)!

Gary also recently finished a 1928 RPU with a two-port Riley.

And here's my pile........ Aluminum Winfield head, Brierly cam, Holley 94's

Had to share these. I saw this car at the hot rod hill climb. Roof F head set up. I had never heard of one.

I'll play too. Even if that means whoring out an already oft seen pic of my Tub...

Once I get home from my latest trip for Uncle Sam, I promise to get this thing done. It'll be back on the road, this time, with shiny paint and a gow'd up banger with a Stromberg 48, a Mag, police head, and lumpy cam.

    Here's how I left it...
