image.jpg Before paint hits the car I thought I would see if anybody had any suggestions. The top is removable and the interior is brown with cream inserts and a gold dash.

Yup. Rear glass is attached to the removable roof and package tray. Good color combo!

Maroon and gold works well, green and gold would work well too. I could also see a darker green body with a lighter green top.

these arent the same shades I was thinking of, but it gives you the idea

I like porknbeaners suggestion. You could play with different top colors. Gold might be nice.
Black with a white roof would pretty classy, but it doesn't sound like you're afraid of color, which is a good thing.

  10. Gold is pretty neutral so look at a bunch of custom colors that will work with the dash and have at it. Being a custom I think gives you a wide brush to paint with, so to speak.

  11. Play around with this color calculator to see what you like.

Classy custom cars seem to look good with more sophisticated "Split Complimentary" and "Triadic" color combinations for a main body, interior, top, and pinstriping.
    Your mileage may vary.

  12. I did these real quick, but maybe you can grab an idea from them. I did some with black and a coloured top, but after doing that I sort of leaned toward having the car one colour. Your great custom work creates enough impact that I don't think the car needs any two tones, scallops, flames, etc..

Earthier tones of green sound like they would match.

there are some really nice brown metallics out now. I'm starting to lean toward metallic finishes on customs, because they seem to highlight the curves better. I'd consider that w/ a cream top, or vice-versa. gold & white pinstriping would set it off nice after that.

79 vette dark brown has a nice gold undertone, there's a lot of choices in late model and HOK browns.

I never was a fan of green but if you have a Dodge dealer near you, check out Dark Forest on the 2015 Ram trucks on a sunny day. Looks black til the sun hits it and I believe it would work well with your interior colors. That would still leave you several options if you chose to paint the roof a different color. Don't know if it's on the 2016 models or not.

Worked at a body shop the summer between 9th and 10th grade. The owner bought a fairly late model wrecked Lincoln, maybe a '72. It had a metallic brown on it that I always liked, maybe because the metallic was 3 or 4 different colors. But never had a car I thought it would look good on. Think it would look good on this car. Maybe with an off white roof.
