I'm back with another one, trying to figure out the approximate date of this photo.

If the sedan is brand new, I'd say it dates 1938. It's a GM made sedan, the coupe is 1936 Chevrolet. EDIT; the coupe is 1935, right.

  4. My guess is around 1939/40, the coupe looks like a 35 Chev going by the wire wheels & hood vents, the sedan appears not to have running boards which were becoming an option by 1940..its not a Ford or Mopar, GM of some sort but looks around 1940ish......and the fender peaking into the pic?......maybe 37/38 Chev going by the fender molding/pressing under the headlight........however I will defer to more knowledgeable experts.......lol...........andyd

How about an XXL photo of the sedan? This is as large as it will go, almost big enough to read the license plate. From the late 30s-early 50s, Nevada plates were light letters dark background on even years, and reversed in odd years.

  7. The headlight/fender in the lower left corner looks to be '38 chevy, and it looks to be new. I'd date the pic prob around '39/'40 also.

39 Chevy headlights mount on the fender. Also, 39 Chevy fenders make a smooth transition to the grille shell or radiator shroud. No bump or bulge on the 39 front fender. The picture seems to indicate that the headlight mounts on the radiator shroud. I have owned 3 x 38 Chevrolets and 1 x 39. I believe the picture shows a 37 or 38 Chevy fender and headlight.

Is there a visible difference between the '36 master and '35 master based on that photo.....I agree its not a standard(headlight buckets)

  14. The Sedan is a '39-'41 Studebaker(my guess would be '39), the 5 window is a '35 Chevy, and the fender/headlight in the lower left corner is either '37-'38 Chevy.

That's what I think because of the rear tailights. I wouldn't mine having a pair of those for my 31 roadster.

scrapiron, RJC, fargoguy, primeisnotacrime, Lou39 big vote for the sedan being 39-40 Studebaker. I'm surprised at the variations I find looking these up -- either the back window, placement of the gas cap, side mirrors don't match up. Closest I find is '40 Studebaker Champion 4D sedan
