That's a good looking car, must be because of the way the rear wheel opening matches the upper body contour. More often than not; the AWB cars looked like a fish out of water.
Still have to love those cars either way.

Look at all the parts and pieces being scattered under the Blown Hell car.

  8. Like the Magic muffler shot of the same situation, the driver seems like he's thinking ''o shit!''

This is one of my favorite threads on jj. I'm looking for pics or info on the Jayhawker awb 63 plymouth. I would prefer vintage pics and stories about Jon Thorne Racing Enterprises and any of the cars they campaigned. I have also started a thread on the main board if anyone would like to contribute. Thanks. Jose

  23. It seems like there were so many of these cars built but I don't see that many around today, where did they all go? Are they sitting somewhere waiting to be discovered?

My ex altered. Built in S&W race cars early 70´s. Cromo chassis, 9", halibrands.
First I had 396cid + NOS (450hp + 250hp), runs 8.4sec. I was winner in Sko Uno Dragfestival Super comp (58cars, 64cars field). All another had trottle stops etc etc. I had only good reactions (0,402 - 0,411) and NOS.

I built in Pomona 572cid big block and car runs 8,0sec with that engine.
    I Sold back to Sweden (where it was 1975 - 1985) 2005.

Here two pics. Christer Safstrom 1976 in Mantorp Sweden (351 + lenco) and 2004 when I was driver.

  25. too bad the kentucky cornel was messed with. it was a well preserved survivor. now its like all the other overly restored cars that look nothing like the way they really were. what a shame. they are only original once.

Judging by looking under the car, and the name "Blown Hell", maybe it should be, "Blown All To Hell".
    I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

  28. mike did you have to pay anything to paint ramchargers on the side. as you know jim poulson has a original 64 ramcharger car. they are ready to restore it. they heard a lawer bought the rights to the name and wants to be payed for allowing the name to go on. we are talking about a real deal car not a tribute. do you know anything about this?
