Yes, and fair weather fender laws are common in plenty of other jurisdictions as well. The SVOA fought long and hard to get this here, , and I agree, if he doesnt "get it" he should probably just run fenders. If he is running fenderless in the rain, hes gonna get tagged, you can bet on it. My guess is, even if its dry, there will be cops around here that will hassle you, just because they havent bothered to stay abreast of the change to the MVC.

Falcongeorge, when you say "here" do you mean BC? Last I saw on the BCHRA newsletter, the fair weather law hadn't fully passed legislation yet. Has it?
That would make me a happy guy :)

I've heard its to become law in 2016, along with the ability to non-lic register an unfinished out of province vehicle into your name before its completed. So no, its not actually law yet, but from what I've heard, both changes are pretty much a done deal.

  6. Although not exactly HAMB friendly...I always liked this street / strip '30 A....

Some aw-some builds posted here. Congratulations to all the builders, a great job.

Have to admit my favorite is this one:

Could be because it is my build. Still waiting for the interior trimming.

Finally, painted, assembled, and back on the road! ...just minor details to finish or correct. ... got 500 miles on the motor, and starting to put freeway miles on it.

  22. Brandon, There is a secret about Model A Hot Rods.
I learned it about 12 years ago. If you build a '40s or '50s
Hot Rod and you expect it to perform like a modern
street rod or any modern car, forget it. If you can figure
out how and where to drive your car, you are home free!
You have to become the guy that would have built and
driven the car at that time. In other words, there were
no super highways where you could drive 80 miles an
hour. Just 40-50 MPH , mostly back roads. If you drive
the back roads as if you are a teenager in the late '40s or early '50s,
you will have a ball. I've had my car 12 years on the road.
I loved to drive it when I got it and I still do. I've put
about 40,000 miles on it. The whole 12 years time it has been on the road.
I used it to commute to work 50 miles a day for a year and a half, every day!
I pick up and deliver parts, pick up groceries, go to shows and cruise nites
and BS with everybody who can't believe I drive it so much.
You can really have fun driving an old 100 HP rod quickly on the
back roads at 50 MPH. This vintage stuff is all in your head!
It really can't make sense any other way! It's a Time Machine, my wife says!
You gotta be Hard Core and drive the wheels off every chance
you get. If you don't get that, you are just a poser!

I am quickly learning this with my A while it still has the warmed up banger powerplant. It can handle a little over 60 on a flat road or downhill, but the mechanical brake thing pops into my head and I let off a bit. This will all change when the new chassis, 8BA and T5 happens, but it'll still be straight axle'd. I like having to work for the drive. It really makes you realize just how distracted most other drivers are. Here's a pic of mine in it's current state. I won't claim it's my favorite by appearance, especially since I have more changes in my plan, just that it's mine.
