Sorry to hear that. He ran in NASCAR for awhile and was big in New England.

  7. Just finished reading a write-up about Ron being interviewed down south here...He was asked if there was anything he didn't like about the South...He said " ....I don't like those Brits you serve with breakfast.." What he actually meant was Grits !!!
May his soul rest in peace....

  10. I followed him in the modifieds mainly. I made a model of the #47 car some years back. Emailed him at his dealership about colors on his Hawaiian Tropic car, he said just to use the blue and purple off the juice can.

  11. An excellent automobile dealer and a top notch racer.
    RIP Ron.

  12. My dad told me I saw run in Winston Cup, and met him.

I was too young to remember.

I have been to dealership in Ficthberg, saw the Talladega car.

My dad remembers watching him run Malta N.A.S.C.A.R. modifieds

    God speed Ron Bouchard.

  13. My dad just found this video-

Sad news, I was lucky enough as a kid to see Ron race the Red & White Movers special at Seekonk and Westboro. Ran into him at the Thompson club house hangin with George Summers and Bugs Stevens a couple of summers ago, what a crew !!

Great stories. I never heard tell of him, seems like he was a hell of a guy.
    Thanks for posting the video.

Certainly a New England legend. One of the firsts who 'made it big' running stock cars out of N.E. Growing up in Conn he was a name familiar to all who even knew a little about circle track racing like myself.
He was also involved with Ed Flemke Jr if I am correct manufacturing chassis' for SK and Whelan type modifieds. Infact, Ed Jr's Whelan Modified was painted in the same white and yellow paint scheme as Ron ran.

He recently opened his own little museum and was at the ground breaking ceremony for the New England Motorsport Museum in Loudon NH adjacent to NHMS property.

  18. Ron's father was watching the race at home on T.V.

The T.V. went out some time on the last lap, and he didn't know if Ron won or not.

Ron's father was so mad he smashed the T.V.

  19. RIP Slowly but surely they are getting fewer and fewer.
