The rear ride height has changed a lot since it was first built. I noticed how much the rear settled in the pics from the Fallout show in October. I don't recall if it has a repro rear spring, which are known to settle, but I'd bet it does.

The car looked fine back when built, it had an very old timey look as to how it sat. I'd like to see if the rear shackle angles have changed a lot, to know if the spring got flatter.

  7. Or that much Viagra.

I look at it this way, I could go over the old hooptie with a fine toothed comb and think of all the things that I would have done different. I could even look at it and think of what I would change if it were mine working with what is already there. Hell I could probably do the same with his scooter and I know that I would be right because I always am. or I can look at it and say to myself, @harleycontracter built him a nice 5 window and I would still be right, because I always am. ;)

I like it, I like it a lot. I like the looks of a chop much more than the looks of an unchopped but channeled 5 window. The only thing I would do is drop the headlights some.

Did I miss the Opinion Poll at the beginning of the thread "What I would do with this car if it were mine"? Pretty sure the owner is thrilled with the final look and feel of his coupe. I think its Bitchin! A few Hambers asked for updated pics so he was kind enough to post them. I personally would love to see more pics of the engine and details of his coupe, but pretty sure now that the man will probably never post again.
Is it me or the Keyboard Cowboys with their opinions pushing all the good builders and their builds off the HAMB. I haven't seen a good build on here in a very long time, at least so it seems... Except when Ryan posts stuff that Keith Tardel working on.

  11. i like it, why do they all have to be the same? whats wrong with sitting up where a car should be? they all shouldn't be nose down like they are plowing snow.
nice little car, is it fast? hoods on so we don't know. isn't sitting like a pro street funny car. hmmmmm, guess we won't know till we are sitting next to him at a light...........................cool.
big caddy, light car, probably will show all the "it needs this" guys a lesson.

It's my fault. I Just asked for better pictures of a cool hot rod, not Opinions! Didn't your momma ever tell ya, " if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!"

Here's a few pics of the motor guys asked for. I know I'm opening myself up for more criticism but I thought if guys were interested enough to ask I'd be glad to show it. I value all your opinions and as I said before a hot rod should be the style in which the builder likes . A hot rod is never a cookie cutter car. They are all COOL. Frank, It is a Posie rear spring. You're right as usual. I'll check the shackle angles this weekend too. We'll talk more about this. Thanks..........

Again, I think you have built a great Hot Rod,
but adding in the Cadillac Power with the Stick is just "Icing on the Cake" :)

And for the Armchair Builder Critics..... I am building an Unchopped, Full Fendered 34 3 Window.
Polar opposites of this build, but I think this Hot Rod is cool as Hell!
Variety is the Spice of Life! :D

The car looks great, im not a "hard chop" kinda guy but thats what makes the world go around!

Ive never been a fan of the frame not matching the color of the body on a 32, to me it changes the proportions of them, the frame gives to its thickness, so i think you chop looks harder because of it. none the less awsome car.

I really think this is all the car needs. And don't get me wrong it is sooooo bitchin right now, it would just add a little.

Harley- Where did you get your air cleaners? Are they old or new? I've been back and forth on what to use on my tub and really dig yours.

Jalopy, I posted here I was looking for vintage air cleaners. Someone responded with these. They were steel louvered ( a decorative kind of) . I had never seen any ever before like them. Try posting as wanted. I always have great results. Good luck...........

  30. HC: I need to ask because I don't know this. You have used a remote mounted oil filter it looks like. Did some of the early Cad motors not have one in the block (like a '55 chevy) or did you block it off and move it for a clearance issue? Tim
