A picture's worth a thousand words, right? That's three thousand words worth right there. Ha!

Is it channeled? Looks like just a stepped frame. Great idea

Is that a 2x6 rectangular tubing frame with a notch for the cab? I've got to learn how to do a frame for my 34

From firewall forward are ASC '32 rails, from the firewall back is custom 2x4 with an 8" kick up.

You know, I actually forget... 9" maybe...looks about the same as Mr. Scrapula's version. I can tell you that the channel is 5-1/2" & a 3" chop. Count, I hope you're not over 6 feet.

That's just a minnie channel, don't know if that counts Count!
The frame I am working with is also a ASC '32 till the back of the cab than a horrendous 2x3 kick up. I will have to channel cab to bottom of frame 51/2" or 6". Thanks to all for posting pic's.................

  15. How about a 3.5 inch chop and a 9 inch channel! Dude that built this back in the 60's is 6'3". No frame step.-MIKE:eek::D

The original sub rails in these trucks are 1,1/4" thick. By taking them out and channeling another 2,3/4" I got a 3" channel over a 4" frame. I only lost 2,3/4" of leg room. I'm planning on doing between 2"-3" on the chop for a total of about 6" leg and headroom combined. Not too bad....

Haven't had time to get in the shop in quite a while, but I did manage to get some bars replaced in my insert. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1448941184.445415.jpg

Not really. This is long term project. I hardly get anything done the last quarter of the year. It's kinda gotten mothballed at the moment cause I'm trying to get a new daily ('54 Chevy) on the road.

I'm using an original '32 grill shell that came off an old channeled hot rod, but it's gonna sit a little higher on my truck so I'm gonna have to patch the bottom. Anybody have an old ragged out shell that's good for patch panels or does somebody offer something aftermarket?
