Technical 1930 model a cowl steer box questions

Just bought this project and need to ID this box. Thanks !

That's what I thought. Never seen one used for cowl steering. I hope it's safe.

 

Looks more like reversed corvair to me

 

If the mounting surface is on an angle it is reverse corvair

 

do you still have this set up and if you do could you attach more photos please and thank you
