Hey guys just saw this in an old batman show and was wondering if anyone knows what it is and the year?
My truck spotters guide has a drawing of a 37 REO C.O.E. panel that looks very close to that. Hard to see detail in fuzzy photos.
Thanks guys! I found more about it online. Here's what I found "What we know of the armored car is that it’s a GM 1-1/2-ton cab-over engine truck from 1941 to 1947, commonly referred to by GM truck enthusiasts as the Art Deco Era. From our research – and there’s not much solid information out there on Art Deco COEs – we’ve seen that grille with the horizontal bars used mainly on the GMC COEs, but we’ve seen the top-of-the-fender headlamps used mainly on the Chevrolet COEs. It’s certainly possible that whatever coachbuilder added the body aft of the cab mixed and matched front-end pieces as well." Pretty badass!
Here is a 41 Chev COE Panel that GM didn't make. But they could have!! Armoured car, delivery van, furniture delivery, coach built? http://home.znet.com/t1937/Panel.htm http://oldvan.exblog.jp/i16/2/
The one on Batman was actually a Euro truck like a Fiat or Mercedes or something. At least it didn't have the GM front sheet metal.
I actually looked for a better photo of it, it would help if I knew which villain to look for. Try google-ing vintage Morris commercial
