at one time there were over 500 pages of posts, is there any way to view the pages that are not on here now ?
Drag Race I’m with you. I found and read this thread this past summer but would very much like to read the entire thread as it was originally posted. It would also be great if the missing photos in many of the earlier posts were restored as well. I’d like to see some talented individual make a book out of it complete with all those great photos. Heck, I’d buy it just for the photos.
I'm not a techie and I have no independent knowledge of how these things work but I think that when photos disappear, the file compresses but continues to display the message that accompanied the pictures. For example, there are 30 messages on the first page of this thread. We now have 388 pages, and if each contained approximately 30 individual posts, we would have about 11,690 posts. The number assigned to the most recent post before this one was #ll,622. Since that is only a rough calculation, it would seem that we're probably not too far off in terms of total posts. Note on page #1, post #1, that the text of Colesy's original post has been removed but I suspect that he pulled that one off at his own volition. What's missing are the pictures that accompanied many of the posts and I agree, the loss of those pictures is grievous. I suspect that many of the pictures were linked from independent third-party sites such as "Photo Bucket" and when the person who established that account decided to close it, the link was broken and therefore no picture appears. The moderators have been very tolerant regarding the site policy that defines the time span covered by H.A.M.B. and I can recall only a very few times that the issue of posting pictures taken after 1964 has arisen. I've been following the thread pretty much from the beginning and collecting any pictures that were of personal interest. Perhaps others have done the same but the H.A.M.B. ins't responsible for archiving all the pictures and I have never read any claim that suggests a complete collection has been compiled. If you see something that you like, I suggest that you copy it for your own files. Of course, it has been said that there's nothing really new under the sun so, if you stay on the thread long enough, most pictures will eventually reappear from a different source. Highest regards to all those who have been here from the beginning! c
This is one week after Ramchargers crashed at Ubly. Ramchargers appropriated a new car body off the lot at a local dealer, installed what body parts that were still good along with the drive train from the crashed racecar and continued on with their scheduled match races.
Does anyone know which car this A stock engine was in? All painted black. The build was supposedly done at Duffy's in Red Bank, NJ.
