Ned your post about the early days is 1000% spot on the money, i would not trade those great days for anything and would do it all again in a heartbeat

I think that is why some of these threads do so well on the HAMB, cause we loved those cool times so much

I didn't know airbag suspensions were an option on 56 trucks.
Oops, my bad, must be photoshopped.

I remember my Dad taking me to a couple of these type tracks. Sometimes, on Saturdays, I would go to the store to "work" with him all day. At lunch, we would go out and get something to eat and maybe stop at one of the tracks in the area and watch for a few minutes.

I deleted the picture, although in my defense, the Pontiac Wide Track ads always had an illustration of the car being wider than it actually was in real life. 5539019088_cf5f06786f_b.jpg

Sorry man, you did'nt need to do that, I actually thought it was a good submission.
Truthfully, I am of the opinion that most anything on four wheels looks better lowered. Was kinda hoping for a clarification on why all of the trucks appeared to be "lay'n frame"(god I hate that term).
You are correct about the creativety Detroit used to sell cars, they still do.
One thing I noticed over the years was how dark the windows appeared to be tinted.
Hope my comment doesn't discourage you from contributing to this great thread

  21. Ditto swi66 on the posting. Just the right amount of Corvairs and every now and then a little cheesecake to spark the morning. I also like photos similar to the ones Deepwater posted above showing people with their cars, seems to complete the picture.
