Anybody build or in the process of building a 1929 Chevy 2 door? Let's see them.

I have been collecting parts for the past year for my next hot rod. I just came across a 1929 Chevy 2 door sedan and am changing directions now. I will start a build thread soon but thought I would see what others have done with one of these.

    Hi Malagusis
Recently my uncle and I purchased a running 29 chevy 2 door sedan.
The car is pretty complete and stock in primer.
Came with some spare parts including a complete drivetrain.
Turns out the spare 194 block was cracked
We are planning on racing the car next year at the TROG if all goes well.
Just started researching available bolt on performance mods for the motor.
Haven't gotten a clear answer on interchangeability with later years and i'm not much of a fabricator just yet.

  3. Both of you need to show some pictures please.

What do you mean "decent"? It's awesome! Do you have the visor? Looks a little funky without it. Good luck with the project.

    We do have the visor
    All there except for glass
Plan is to chop it (sorry tradionalists)
Hop up the 194 as much as possible
Race it on the beach next year
    Then Hot Rod it
Will try to keep the Picts coming along the way

My dad and I have been putting together a 29 Chevy Coach (2dr Sedan) for the last several years off and on.

We are retaining the parrellel leaf springs, the front axle has been dropped about 4" and it is using a Vega steering box. Set up for a 327, 350 turbo, and I believe a 10 bolt Chevy rear end. The wood is a really pain on these cars, so we replaced most of it with steel; a ribbed panel from a station wagon was used to plug the hole in the roof. When the sheet metal work was done, we decided to not chop the car.

At the point now where we need to pull the body back off and plumb the chassis. Unfortunately, I have been having issues with pictures and they don't really want to load.

    IMG_1710.JPG IMG_1705.JPG finally getting to the 29
been checking out the breaks and such
I think I saw the rods for the shocks in all the extra parts
starter also being finicky-looking for rebuild parts just not sure what's good and bad yet
bored out the offy 235 intake for a snug fit on the 194 head
threw on a set of artillery wheels we picked up in Carlisle for a friend temporarily

This pile of junk used to be a 29 chevy sedan. Does anyone know what length the front and rear springs are, and whether or not the center pins are centered between the spring eyelets. Also are there any other springs that will work. I want to keep the parallel leafs front and rear, but my frame is missing the springs and axles.
