This is our 1932 Plymouth PB. Been in dp something for over ten years. It was just time to squirt it some high quality John Deere Blitz Black! Not done yet but looking good IMO

aint got nothing to add , but sure enjoying the thread !!

  16. That's an easy fix, just a mild massaging. You should get the chance to deal with the lower 8 on my old girl. I think she was rode hard and out up wet.

  17. Picked this up 2 years ago. Hard to believe it spent its whole life in Illinois. Very minimal rust on it. Right rear fender was replaced at one point. I can just make out some chalk numbers from the dealer written on it. Inside of the trunk and door jambs look like it could have been painted yesterday.

Talk about stance! Man, I love the way this thing sits. What size tire is under the rear of this thing?

My son and I's 64 ranchero. We hand rubbed it with towels and rubbing compound then put a coat of wax on. Pretty darn sure it's the original paint.

I couldn't take it though...the paint and body work was just horrible. The car deserved better...

Not high dollar at all, in fact, I have less than $500 into the paint job...we all know your labor doesn't count...

  29. The hardest part about cars in original paint these days is tat most of them have rust issues. Then you got to decide whether to buff it or not. If you lean too hard in it you end up burning through.

When I first joined the HAMB I had an old Galaxie that had a very old Earl Schiebe job. I looked it close and knew that it could be slick and shiny albeit with a scratch and ding or two. I knew that I didn't dare hit it with the buffer as I just am not that good at finessing one. So I spent a week hand rubbing the thing, one can of DuPont rubbing compound and two cans of Turtle wax past wax later and it was all shiny and nice and looked gorgeous from 50 feet. ;)

  30. hey beaner,
    did it cost $29.95?!
