1st shot- standing on the front wheel- My coupe , 10 years ago
2nd shot -standing on my PU toolbox- the infamous blue roadster/ banger hot rod
Not really "overhead" , but not OSHA approved either! Neat idea for a thread; lots of cool pics.

I've had this 65 Corvette for 20 years. I bought it from a friend who bought it from an old guy in the neighbor hood that I grew up in. I've known the car since 68 or so. It's an all original 350 horse 327, 4 speed, 3:36 rear end car. It did get repainted like 30 years ago. She's got some problems but last year I got it running, cleaned up and put it in the big local indoor car show. Devlin/Starbird. I showed it with a black steel wheel and big n little tire combo and freaked a bunch of other Vette owners out. It was funny to hear them squawk! I should mention a bunch of other older guys said this was how they remembered them, set up for street racing and raising hell, and they really dug the old car.

I just love the total overall effect this picture takes. Gas station, old pickup, timeless pose!

  13. @Baumi, you have to explain the "flying chassis" and how/why. image.jpg

  14. I have sent Baumi a PM in the past explaining that my grandparents (mothers side) lived in Landshut. The scenery in your photos brings back memories of my visits. They are deceased now, but this is where they lived. #germanlivesmattertoo:D

Hahaha, I just can´t throw good parts away.... Here comes the long version:A few years ago I wanted a family / daily cruiser and fell in love with a 61 Buick Electra 225 4dr. It was almost a gift, but it was also a shell, rusty, lots of bondo, without engine and trans, but I started to restore it. The frame was done, when I found a running and driving "parts car" 61 LeSabre here in the Hamb classifieds. It was in Seattle had fresh chrome and was also cheap, but it would give me an interior, drivetrain and so on. When the LeSabre arrived I found it was completly rustfree, with the invoice of a recent engine and trans rebuild in the glove box. All the brakes were new aswell, so I parted out the Electra and hung the freshly painted frame under the rafters outside my shop. I finally sold it and most of the other 61 parts to two fellows who restored a 61 Le Sabre Bubble Top and a 61 Electra convertible. The convertible frame was badly rusted ( a swiss assembled car from day one) so he was glad I could get his hands on a freshly painted / rebuilt one. After a while I sold the LeSabre and the proceeds of both 61s made it possible to buy the 65 Riviera....

Chucky , Tannenweg is not to far from the main train station in Landshut and my Radiator guy is also close by in Eichenstrasse.
If you look a the photo with my 62 Impala in it , Landshut would be right behind the next hill in the right third of the pic.Just the next valley.
My house is right next to the church you see in the background on the left.
