Are you looking for real pics or recreations? Here's my pops. This pic has been posted a million times but you asked....
here are 2 I grabbed quickly from my files....circa unknown. one is the shop truck from Gratiot and the other a drag truck.
This was at a car show last summer. There are a lot of things I liked on this truck and a few that I didn't. Bottom line, though, I have a huge soft spot for 40 Ford trucks.
Hi Meester P, actually that truck is my buddy Laurie Peterson's from Vancouver, Canada. It was rolled out of the garage for the first time this last Sunday. It's bad ass, someone on the HAMB called it the "Armadillo from Hell", which I think suites it perfectly.
Pretty sure I remember this picture was mentioned as having been taken in the '60s. I like this one a lot.
I would love to see more pics of that RPU, but those are the only ones I've seen. I wonder what became of it. I was bummed when they didn't include that article in the R&C book, just the cover of that month I've been trying to find vintage pics of early Hot Rod pickups but it seems like there are a lot more built today then there were "back in the day"
This '31 A channelled Pickup is a perfect example of early Ford pickup hot rod stance and appearance in general..... I went up to Torronto Canada- a few years ago and traded for it. It was completely unassembled and apart in boxes for a complete refurbishing... Luckily I got to it when I did. I brought it home and cleaned and re-assembled it - it still had the original paint and upholstery -[even the tires] from its initial 1961 Build/ construction. Merc flathead with Edelbrock heads and Offy intake with 3 -97's-homebuilt headers and an early dropped axle-39 top;oader with 40 rear end-real REVERSED/welded by hand early ford wheels.....check out the horizontal bars in chopped deuce shell It was built in 1961 and shown by Ted Hoy a member of the Roadmates car club.
As long as we're talking about hot rod trucks, can anyone find me a pic of Rudy Rodriguez's '35 ford, preferably an earily pic with the hooker still on the door? I searched, but all the pics that were posted were from links that dont go anywhere anymore
