Took the Mrs. out for a ride this afternoon. With the rain in the morning, we couldn't really get going until around 3 pm. Wanted to see some leaves so headed east on Rte. 2 towards Marlborough then onto State route 66 towards Portland. On the Way we stopped at the Carter Hill Filling Station in Marlborough. A cool place to stop and take photos! The owner, Mitch, is a really friendly guy. Even took this photo for us. He has lots planned for the future here. I see he has a field behind the station with a barn at one end. He has painted the side of the barn white and notes he has some drive in stands/speakers to set up and hopes to be showing cruise movies next summer. Nice guy to talk with and at the time was working on fixing the lights over the pumps. Doesn't seem to be a profit motive in mind, just a nice guy setting up a piece of Americana for us to enjoy.

Seems this place was a filling station way back when and later on became a farm stand which for the last several years has been dormant. I can remember the farm stand part and love the way this place looks.

The autumn colors seem especially vibrant this year, even with the overcast skies. It was a beautiful ride through Marlborough, East Hampton and Portland today!

Worth the ride and stop by some time and pose some pics for yourself.

    Pete

Great picture, the Model A and the Filling Station go together perfectly.

This picture could be added to the page that describes what HAMB is all about.

Couldn't resist. Took the truck out there Sat. Couldn't pose the same pic as there was a pretty neat Harley there.
Mitch was getting ready to show Frankenstein movies on the barn behind the garage.

Great pics. Gets me excited for the trips coming up when my car is ready for the road! Long ways off but good incentive!
