  4. So nice to see the Boyd Pennington altered on display. I watched the original thrill crowds in the 60's. Boyd was a racer to the core. RIP.

Yep those fuel altered's sure did put on a show, must have been a thrill to drive one of those short wheel based fire breathing beauty's

Most all time cool altered was the blue ' 554 ' coupe

This was my first time to such an event with racing, I'm now sold. Had a blast, now I'll try to make it next year!

  21. Plastic crappers were part of 60's drag racing. Those fit right in!!

  22. Hell . . . I thought for a minute that was a name of a fiberglass flopper . . . "The Plastic Crapper" . . . probably would have been a hit! :)

Anyone got a video of the poor 134 car ( mooneyham/ sharp clone)....?

i teared up a little .... Hate to see that happen ...... Some friends saw the aftermath...said it didn't look to bad... Hope it gets back on the track... Such a neat car...

I have trekked south over a dozen times to the CHRR, missed a few including this one but without a doubt I think getting to see the Austin and Grassi Fuel Cuda would have been a high point for me, man that car is just so cool. Looks like the Tacoma boys did an outstanding restoration.
Did they make any exibition runs or cacklefest?
    Thanks Groucho.

Yeah , he went for a hell of a tumble , I think it was an 8.90 on the roof backwards , driver got out and waved at the crowd , I found some video posted on instagram , I will see if I can post a link... Not exactly a computer guru ...

Many more cars this year, took up much of what used to be the swap area - if I could only attend one event a year, this would be it
