Fantastic thread! I have been lucky enough to just buy a 1932 ford roadster that has been sitting a shed here in Australia since The early 1990's it has beenstarted to be hot rodded and I am trying to find out more history on it ,a better body I have never come across ,9 inch ford diff, ladder bars, coil over shockers ,disc brake drop axle front, rebuilt flathead with triple carbies, edelbrock heads and C4 auto ,crimson metallic paint. It was owned by the guys dad who has passed away and left the family with large car collection . I will try and load some pictures shortly but I am over the moon on being able to put it back on the road, cheers Gary

Oh that is such a great car!!

I love it! I couldn't get my self to change a thing if it was mine, but if I was building that one myself, I would pinch, bob and tuck the rails behind that grill, run a spring behind axle and baby moons.
But that is so close to perfect, era perfect and in most ways that I almost made a mess in my pants!!!

What's under the hood, flathead? Nailhead?

And one with the baldy caps. Both of these are the good side. The driver front fender is flaking....

any car around today driving or not is a "survivor". i hate this word just as much as i hate the words "barn find". just saying.

IMG_1553.JPG The body is a survivor hot rod from the so-cal area that was around in the 40s. Don't have any other info on it, but has fairly typical old mods like 39 lights, shaved cowl vent, dash was cut for a 32 Chrysler? gauge panel, leaded in rear panels and dash. Still has the original old primer on it. It then went to Omaha and now lives up in Canada. I am just about done getting it back into a full car.

This car was mid-hot rodded when I plucked it out of a small rustic building in 2013 . Survivor? Kinda. Last time it was registered was New Jersey 1954! I think the paint was done before then, but I don't know for sure. Obviously the body has shed more paint than the peripherals. Her and I just took a little drive across the desert southwest. This '32 was at the Quincy, IL Early Tin Dusters show this past weekend. It looks like a survivor to me.

Here's another '32 that was at Quincy, IL last year (2014). It is always amazing to see the number of people who look at the cars in this condition compared to the ones that are finished to the hilt.

Here's one I guess could be called a survivor, even though I do not have a lot of information. All I know is it was built in 1955 somewhere in Georgia and put into storage in 1972. The heavily damaged top was removed, door frames were cut to turn the car into a coupster. I was told by the seller the car had been featured in a hotrod magazine in the late 2000s and that it then belonged to a guy called Rocky Meeks.
If anyone knows that car, I'm more than glad to get more information about it!

Have owned 6 1932 wagons including Guffeys(# 4) above. :)This is # 6 and the last I think. Shots are seeing it for the first time coming off the Ferry from Martha's Vineyard last November. Have since changed the rims to black and black wall tires.

The Trowell &Turner Roadster was built in Dallas, Texas by circle track racers, and brothers, Jiggs and AD Trowell in '51-'52 using a wrecked, nearly new Oldsmobile 88. I was raced in road race events, and drag raced at Caddo Mills Dragstrip throughout the 50's. It remained in the Dallas area and basically unchanged until it's restoration in 2012. image.jpg image.jpg
