Local drag strip? You mean like Fremont? Half Moon Bay, Little Bonneville? Oh. They all closed. But I can take you to a very nice Electronics store.

I say take it out to Oakland and show them how a "side show" is really done

  6. Granted,I don't live in California so I don't know anything about your local but there is bound to be a small venue somewhere you could test. HRP

Sears point (not small) or Sacramento. Neither what I would call close. Maybe he could rent the parking lot at Google or Ebay. Probably not.

A few years back most the new industrial area on the south side was empty seemed especially desolate on Sundays

I'll tell you what. If i knew of such a place in the Bay area, I'd use it. But I don't.

Just saw an episode of the new Jay Leno show and they drove a 1915 car on a deserted road linking Northern and Southern California.

I remember some guys with a altered testing it on a stretch of new freeway that was not yet open. They did it on weekends and after hours when workers were off.

Has to be something around gilroy?

  21. If there's any way you could get over to Bonneville, there's a veritable plethora of straight, long, flat roads to play on.

Just took 25 from Hollister to King City last Thursday. Pretty darn deserted.

Sears Point is doing the Wednesday night drags through November. I know it's a haul but it's only $25.

Just do it in front of your house, like the rest of us. Neighbors LOVE that kind of stuff ! :D:D

I'm with Don. Did that when I was a teenager. Neighbors were impressed, I could tell by the "looks" I would get. After I moved away and would return to see my folks, the neighbors would look at me like I was returning to the scene of the crime.

The drought has provided me with an opportunity to test my car. I go to the local lake ( Melones) where the launch ramps are way out of the water giving me two big parking lots that are totally empty. The last time I went, the park ranger sat and watched for almost an hour. Sunday afternoon during football is best.

Yeah, Monterey Hwy. It parallels the 101. Just North of the factory outlet center where it's crops and old industrial. Long straight stretch. Hit that at 3AM.
Try to find out through the grapevine where the local street racers go for shakedown runs.

  30. You need some decoy action. Set off a bomb somewhere to draw the cops away from your parking lot try-out area. LOL I'm kidding!!!!!!!!!
