Keepin on tweakin. Picked up a nice Vintique 32 shell and insert from Riley Automotive. Onto messin the some eyeballs. Option 1 is a cut-down 30/31 model A bar with King bees. I'll be adding an upper nerf bar and making new feet bars for it to get the height and angle correct. Tacked the bar to some angle to adjust the height. Basically lined it up with the lower cross-bar in the grill insert and then adjusted from there.

  2. What was a pain in the ass ? The blue painters tape or the vise grips too tight ? I'm stuck on a train with shit wi-fi, and this damned phone is my only lifeline to your thread ... I can't go forward or back dang' it ... but you know what ? It looks frekn' great !! So don't mind my tech idiocy of the moment ... you'll be my only post of the night ... and I love this f#kn' coupe. So there ! Keep kickin' ass man. It's awesome.

Haha working on the limeworks shifter was a huge pain in the ass. It looked so easy and then all of the adjustments and sizing the holes in the floor became a lot more difficult to work on crammed under the dash then it originally looked. Thanks for the compliments I appreciate it.

Headlights option 2. Still wanna try these on an original 32 bar. 35/36 ford pickup lights.

Yeah I'm with ya. I like them both but I'm digging the King Bees for this build. The shell is just a stock size shell and stock size radiator so they're staying where they are. After looking at a few model As on 32 rails in person with stock shells I felt better about not cutting them down and then having to order a custom walker radiator. My body is only channeled 3/4". If it was channeled 1" or more I'd have to lower the shell and radiator. The Hilton coupes mostly run stock size shells and look good in person.

Put some new sealed beams in the King bees to see how they actually look. Gonna try to find a pair of older beams for it later.

Not too many updates. Been to damn hot to do anything. Going to install the tail lights this week and then order the roof wood kit. This past labor day weekend we had a Carbeque at the house. Here're a few photos for the hell of it.

Messed with the 1947/48 Kaiser Frazer tail lights tonight. Fitted in new 1157 plugs, blasted the buckets, fit them to a test sheet of metal, and checked the brightness. These'll be just fine.

Nice improvement over the old style lighting.

I was pleasantly surprised how bright the 1157 bulbs were. I didn't want to run LED 1157 bulbs if I didn't have to. Ive seen some guys run them and you don't even notice the LEDs in them because some of the lenses must been thicker than others, and then other times where you clearly can see an LED bulb inside the housing. No bueno. PepBoys universal 1157 plugs fit like a glove.

Got the tail lights done today and started ripping out all of the original top wood which was an absolute mess but came apart really easy.

Had to pull the tank back out to install the little pumpkin hump. Going to have to fit it to the floor a little better since its a universal stock 32 floor hump. We also removed all of the original top wood and started cleaning the metal behind where the wood goes. Fortunately no surprises back there.

All welded in. The tank looks closer to the cover in pics than it actually is.

Hey Dave that would be an awesome place to bring it, but I'm not. I do think its invite only? Not sure if I'd have to submit it for entry prob. I'll be there to enjoy the sights though. My car is getting ripped apart in a month or so to get it ready for paint so most of the pics I'll be posting from here out will be boring crap until I start finishing the motor up.

Finished staining and installing all of the new top wood. Blasted all of the original brackets and repainted everything with rustoleum semiflat. My favorite rattle can paint.

Question for you Model A guys...does anyone put anything between the top metal and the wood? Or do you guys just nail it right to the wood?
