It's that time of year again. The Early Tin Dusters are hosting their annual freebie run in Quincy, Il on October 16, 17, & 18, 2015. Just a heads-up reminder that this is one of the best rod runs in the midwest, IMHO.

It's free, but donations are accepted and all proceeds go to Camp Callahan, which is for kids with special needs. I'm not a Tin Duster, and really have no dog in this fight, other than going down every year for the past 25 years. Last year, I saw Steve's Buick (from KCMO area) but never saw him. Ran into Honest Ray, both Saturday and Sunday.

The Quincy area hospitality is second to none, and even better, Mrs. Stu d Baker loves the event, and the drive down.

Please give this a bump or two for a bunch of folks in Quincy who work very hard every year.

I've been going for about 30 years. Pre 48 cars and beautiful city. Even won a Quincy compressor back in '91

Great Show, so many cars to see. The ideas and details are amazing. A study of different thoughts on how put the finishing touches on car, always surprises me

We just got back from the Hot Rod Hundred a few minutes ago. A great day with about 90 cars, lots of people and great food at Bob's Gasoline Alley in Cuba, MO.
I must have been asked at least a half dozen times "You going to be in Quincy next week?" You bet!

  10. I plan to be there. This is the 40th annual event. One of the best pre49 events.

We haven't missed in 15 years. We will be there Friday and sat in the 48 convertible and was surprised to have won best Suede last year with my 40 delivery.

Can I assume that Saturday is the day to attend if only going one day?

A-Boner, Saturday is the cars in the business district. Yes, good day. Sunday is Moorman park with door prizes, etc., at 2:30 p.m. Also a good day. On Sunday, you can usually get out of there about 3:45 p.m. Check out the web site.

I usually get home by 10 p.m. Sunday night. For reference, I'm just off of I-80, near the Indiana State Line. Don't know how much farther north you are, but maybe 1 1/2 hours to Milwaukee? from me.

We used to attend friday- sunday. But over the years we've decided we prefer Saturday and it's location best. So we only go Fridayand Saturday now. Saturday seems best to me.

Saturday downtown was fantastic. One of the best midwest shows and well worth going.

I'm not much of a shutter bug, but I did take a few. I'm not sure, but I believe the skull gearshift knob could be an original Norm Grabowski piece? Maybe Stupres32 can chime in and let us know. He also had some other beautiful wood carving on the car. We just got home, had a good ride back. I looked for Honest Ray, but no luck. Ray did talk to Mrs. Stu d baker on Sunday, so I know he was there. They had almost 800 cars there and raised about 12K for Camp Callahan kids:):):):):). Another great job by the Early Tin Dusters in Quincy, Il. 001.JPG 002.JPG 003.JPG 004.JPG 005.JPG 006.JPG 007.JPG 008.JPG 009.JPG 001.JPG 002.JPG 003.JPG 004.JPG 005.JPG 006.JPG 007.JPG 008.JPG 009.JPG 001.JPG 002.JPG 003.JPG 004.JPG 005.JPG 006.JPG 007.JPG 008.JPG 009.JPG
