It was quicker and less labor, hence cheaper, works just as well or better, no harm, no fault. I like it lots better,, Used two, so far.. carry on..
I got a 32 roadster last NOVEMBER and trying to figure out what frame it is that's why I was asking. It came out of Las Vegas NV. But has a California title. Me and the car are in Atlanta GA.
SO-CAL offered the "Step Boxed" chassis from the opening of their store in Pomona which was in the late 90's as I recall, but step boxing or inset boxing has been around for a long time. Your roadster has different rear set-up than SO-CAL offered off the shelf so it may have been modified by the builder. Nice looking roadster.
I noticed the jam nut on the lower right side trailing arm looks loose....might want to check it......nice looking car
SoCal frames have a serial number stamped in the right side boxing plate just behind the front crossmember. At least mine does. If you find a stamped number there SoCal should be able to give you the production date and original buyer.
yes I got money! or I would not have even thought about it. I had to pay for my little girls wedding and it helped but I do like the car alot
Barry, there's nothing like a roadster in nice weather, but the weather we're having the last few days, they ain't much fun! I like that "step boxing" concept, as it gives you a sort of shelf to lay out wires and tubes.
mine does not have step plates, but has all the SO/CAL stuff on it after looking its a pete and jake frame. I have already put 1000 miles on it. I'm fixing to make some changs and get ready for this spring.
Hey Bill, check your punctuation. And I don't see the word you want corrected in the sentence you quoted either! But thanks for your interest.
Bill, We have many members here that don't have advanced degrees in English but possess automotive knowledge that is invaluable to us ,pointing out spelling faux pas is unnecessary and counterproductive. HRP
A FNG bump- an old thread to grade it like an English paper. Ohhhh boy, there's not quite 10 million posts on the Hamb. So you have quite a bit to catch up on with the grading of English papers. Noamsain ?
Bill....I think your on the wrong site........you want to correct our spelling and we could care less......................
Back to "frames". What is the real reason for step boxing: A. To box the frame, but give more of an appearance of a unboxed frame. B. To avoid metal finishing approximately 40 feet of boxing plate welds.
