As already asked, what is the current condition of the beach?

 

Hey guys how is it looking in Wildwood? Flights and everything were all rescheduled last week, heading that way Thursday. Just curious of conditions and outlook.

There's 4 days or so to dry out, let's hope for the best.

Was down in Ocean County working on my woodie this weekend. There were pictures of a house that had washed away and some breached dunes and flooding. Looks like some beaches took a pounding. Not sure how the beaches faired farther south.

 

"Beaches... we don't need no stinkin beaches!" Then again yeah you do.

 

Can anyone give a real beach report?
Is there anything I can do to help on Friday?

 

The Oilers have posted see you this weekend on their Facebook page with a new flyer showing this weekends dates. I just called our motel, Sea Gull Motel and they said no storm related damage at the Motel, also said they have a very large beach so shouldn't be a problem...hopefully some of the Oilers can chime in on here too. Stoked, can't wait for this weekend!!!

I called today looking for a room and got a similar response from a hotel manager...."we have a big beach" but no confirmation regarding erosion. I am going to wait a day or two for a clearer picture before booking. Went last year and it was awesome. Couldn't book this year due to family obligation last weekend but since it has been rescheduled I am free to go!

 

Yeah, Wildwood beaches are really wide,we should be OK..

 

"should be OK" ?? anyone close enough to drive there and see in person and report here? weather says rain Friday afternoon

Hey guys.....

Just got off the phone with Mel. He's on the beach right now with the crew setting up the tents, banners and race structures!!

He said the beach is perfect and the best it's ever been, almost as if it's been conditioned.

This is awesome news!!!

Great news, it had been sounding like it would come together. Got my plane tickets, check, got my room, check, see you all there!!!

 

Hershey tomorrow. TROG Friday night. Life is good.
