Now that winter is over, progess is being made again. Allison has helped finish the brakes (she wasn't to fond of double flairing so I had to do that part alone). The coupe now steers and stops. Plus it now has front shocks and links installed. Next i gotta get some radiator hoses, fuel line and linkage made and we can move it around the driveway under its own power.

I have been messing with it in my free time. It is now getting close to running and driving, I still gotta make headers, put on the dual carb intake, wire it and run fuel lines. 20160509_071626.jpg

Still got a lot to do but I drove it around the driveway today with am improvised gas tank.

Our 7 year old daughter has been helping out a lot. And is really excited that her car runs now. 20160516_182110.jpg 20160516_200457.jpg 20160517_151043.jpg 20160516_200523.jpg

Tonight I got the fuel lines all made and hooked up and it is now running from its own gas tank. I also wired up the generator and regulator so it charges now.

It is running pretty well....but unfortunatly has a good bit of blowby out the draft tube so I will most likely have to rebuild the engine and hop it up prior to it seeing much road use.

Here is a pic of it running at idle...... no more smoke....I rigged up a pcv system since my compression readings were pretty decent..... it should mask the issuse till the rings get ungummed up (fingers crossed) or till I rebuild the flathead.

I've busted a few things over the years but all in all has been pretty reliable for the amount of miles it sees and hard use it gets.

Oh and our kiddoe that helped build it is now 12 and not so little anymore. She decided she wants to build a 48 ford truck for her first car now... so this year I will be helping her tackle it.

Our littlest one is 8 and has been helping a lot as well and also has a lot of interest in cars as well.
