  1. Great idea. Tradition is good but evolution and improvement is even better as long as you don't forget your roots.

This made me go back and look at mine, Danny. You've got a year on me! For what it's worth I normally don't like change but in this case I think something that looked closer to a timing tag would be cool.

I never saw the rectangle brass tag before. Maybe before my time?

Just got my first tag this year and I think it's cool the way it is. That said, I'm not really in it for the tag and I'll support the cause regardless of the design.

Brass n black sounds good to me (don't like the red). I know u said disregard art on sample (it wouldn't be my first choice). How bout incorporate original symbol into the new design somewhere. How bout another run of shifter knobs. I missed out. ty

As soon as I started to read your first post Ryan, I thought, change it to resemble a timing tag. And then I kept reading. I like it. Giv-er!

I am usually not one for change ...rattles around and weighs my pockets down.
But, do what ya gotta do Ryan.
    I can dig it.

Not seeing how the holes will align with the older tags ...guessing the overall size remains the same? Should still be an "easy to spot" then. Ah, just go for it! Something racy and dirty, I mean dusty.

oh and yeah... make certain I still get my 2015 tag when I re-up my membership in December, then go ahead and change away;)

  13. If I was offered a choice,i'd choose the OG tag.
A side shot of a roadster however, that would be another story.
A side shot of a 33 truck, hell, i'd sign up twice!

Brass - YES! Thicker, heavier, brass would be GREAT. I am a fan of the old design though.
New design - 46 Chevy coupe with a big inline would be nice. Only problem with that is I know I could not win a vote for that design. So just go for what you think best as I know you will keep it HAMB friendly.

  15. well it looks like most are for the change. How about if we do go to a "timming tag" type of format, there be fields for "member since" "date or year" Even "top speed" "engine size" "class" that we could fill in. that way it would look more like a timming tag and not just another dash plaque.

Either way is OK by me. I have all of the previous ones in a file cabinet drawer, my interest is to help fund the cause.
If you don't want holes in your firewall just use double side tape and stick it on.

    My comment's "For it, highly.".

I picked up a couple of the original brassies, and run one on my HAMBster. I really like the way it looks, like the etched brass idea for this one, and would gladly spend as needed for that version, even as a special order.

I thoughtlessly tried to clean one of my aluminum ones with laquer thinner, and only barely salvaged it (albeit a bit faded now), so would not likely mount another non-etched version (I use the firewall), just keep it for my collection.

ps. This would render our current ones more "collectible", technically. Hmmm.

Yep. Do it. Thicker & Brass.
I don't care about holes, you guys can build entire cars from 4door scrap, 4 pinholes aren't gonna make it or break it.
I like timing tag idea & brass.

Hi. I definitely like the idea of thicker & brass. On the design it definitely needs to be traditional hot rod. But then comes the thought of what era of traditional. The era's of the 40's & 50's is what many of us old Geezers grew up with and what we relate most to. During the 40's likely the flathead Ford V8 or the Chevy 6 were the most common. As the 50's progressed those engine types began to wan for the many different OHV V8's.
As my signature here says - "If it ain't an inline 6 it is just a passing fad". I am not into the dang newer passing fad engines.
Go with what you think best & it will work for us.

Didnt read all the posts, but I drilled and rivited mine to my firewall. So a new shape would mean new holes or having to leave the old hamb tag on and put the new one somewhere's else.....
