    Someone delete a post?
Who said there was anything wrong with that?

3w Larry was saying that those he called are all busy, and he's on a 6 month plan for a finished car. He also wants a semi local guy/shop. So if you can't wait for or find a shop you do it yourself - right?

My cat helps a lot. knocks over my beer, sleeps in the racecar seat, brings semi-dead/decapitated rodents into the shop... but she hangs tough even when I'm using the grinder or the air compressor starts up...

    here's some more pictures,
    food for thought..
a stock frame, boxed and stretched front and rear,
in front to fit the engine between the uncut firewall and radiator
and rear to put the A spring behind the rear axle

you'll have to imagine a pickup bed in place of the turtle deck..

very simple and relatively quick to put together

You know I had a trailer manufacture make mine off a drawing, was done in 1 week and less than $1k. But no holes, body mounts etc

That's a damned good idea! I have a trailer fab company here in my town and never even though of farming out stuff to them- they'd probably knock it out toot-sweet!
edit- I just looked them up- Eagle Trailer in Lawrence, KS- they also sell tube and other structural steel- great resource I never thought to check out! -rick

  18. Exactly, what I was getting at earlier.

With a drawing AKA blueprint you can walk it into any type fab shop/job shop and get it done. You'll get exactly what is drawn and dimensioned.

These guys read blueprints and build shit from them. They do it every single day, day in and day out. It makes no difference to them if its skyscraper parts, trailers, lawn mower or space shuttle parts, forklift cage, or even a hot rod frame. You draw it and they build it.

Nowwwww, if you aren't sure what you want and can't figure it out, cant draw the dimensions or know if it fits without fitting it into a mocked up car you'll not be able to utilize that resource.

I thought everyone had a cat to hold the tape measure, without the cat, we would have to go back to chalk on the floor

Larry, I wish I was closer to you, I would be happy to come over and help figure it out and get it drawn up so you could pursue those options!

  26. Ok, so far you need 250 pounds of dadgum, a cat and a dog with a welder.

Is there an Alliance vendor for this or does it came as a kit...from Speedway?

Dadgum is on sale this week in Monroe, MI. The shipping would prolly eat the savings tho...

I like your new goal Larry, stand firm on plan and quality, do it once with no compromise. There's always a show for the car when it's done. I'm not sure if you were hoping for a "1st show" type award competition or just tried to set a quicker target to completion, but at the end of it all you're sure to be really happy with the outcome.
