I have a 47 Plymouth and the stock steering wheel was in really bad shape when I bought the car. I bought a 50 Chrysler wheel for a really low price thinking that since it was close in age and a Mopar, it would work. As some of you probably already know, I was wrong. The steering shaft on the Plymouth seems to be 1/2" at the spline and the Chrysler is 5/8" or so (I don't have a set of calipers so I had to eyeball it).

I am not a big fan of the Plymouth wheels so I figured I would see if anyone had some ideas as to another wheel from the late 40's or early 50's that would work on a stock Plymouth steering shaft? Are there any adapters that would slip over the stock splines to allow me to use a Ford or Chevy 3/4" wheel? What have others done to swap steering wheels across makes?

I searched through the HAMB and the P15 website and could not really get a solid answer.

Thanks for the reply! That solution sounds like it will work.
