For some reason this thread doesn't show up in the Customs forum. . . only in the general hamb forum. That's why I missed it. But I'm watching now!

Ok I'm back and ready to get this car ready for body work by December. It's not much but it's a step in the right direction. I'm going to lengthen the drip rails and swoop them in the rear. Here's what I got done in an hour. What do you guys think????

    Did the driver side today.
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1444697006.778953.jpg

And in not exciting news. I put shocks on the trunk so I don't have to worry about the pole slipping and me losing my head. I'm also working on getting the gap perfect but I'll finish that another day.

So I'm just going to leave this here. Not anything cool to look at but it took me 6 hours of weld then file. Hammer and Dollie. Then weld and file. To get the gaps to where I'm happy. Ugh I hate gapping.

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1445906998.501488.jpg

Then I finished up the weird step down that was left after I welded the fenders to the car. I used some solid round rod and ground it smooth. Much better.

    That's all for this weekend.

This weeks adventure. I welded up the gap between the fenders and the caul.

Then I got to work on the fire wall. Filling the weird gaps between the fire wall and the fender. I got the driver side done but ran out of time. So next weekend I will finish it.

So after a long day hunched over in the engine compartment I can say the firewall is done. I also made some filler pieces around the radiator. I know it's not much to look at unless you know what a stock one looks like. That was a lot of work for something very few will even notice. Oh well!!!!

On a fun note. I've pick my color. Thanks to my girlfriend and close friends it's going to be the lighter one in the pic.

I dialed in the steering column today. This column was an after market 40 ford re make. The quality is unbelievable. I don't see how they even make money.

My buddy Robbie made me the drop out of stainless and then he polished it. I'll have to do a little touch up polish where I worked it.

Today's Monday done day. I got my painted parts back for the motor and I ran the threaded style spark plug wires.

Then because I decided to make my own side trim I got to weld up all the holes from the factory. That was a slow process. But no warping.

Since I can't find a side trim I like. I'm calling on one of my good friends to help make me some kustom ones.

    Here's where it begins.
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1450747291.549938.jpg

Then I I finished the other garnish moldings.
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1450747363.200651.jpg

At least I can say they are done now.

Dropped the motor in for its final fit before body work starts. Everything lined up and falls where she needs to. And a even better plus. The motor and trans didn't even get a scratch on it.
