Who do you guys use? I haven't had any done in a long time and the guy I used to use is real busy doing industrial stuff and can't get to it for a while.
I agree. There used to be a little one man shop that did good work but he wouldn't hire helpers so his delivery sucked. Airborne did stuff for me a few years ago, very nice...
I have personally seen a set of ricer rims (co-worker) coated by Tops Powder Coating in OKC and was really impressed. They totally sandblasted and sanded his smooth and coated them with a grey-Pweter color and they are smooth and shiney. They also coated the inside of the rim where the tire mounts too. $250 for all 4 rims he said with the cleaning the old coating off.
Mike show pictures of your truck here, because it is awesome and will probably get you alot more interest in this thread, which I cannnot help you with. John
I've used Abitl on New Sapulpa road for industrial stuff. They have a batch oven also. There's also Broken Arrow Powder Coating, no experience with them.
BA Powdercoating did some Jeep parts for me - look good, reasonably priced. Havent had them on long enough nor abused them to comment on longevity, but they look nice and the guy I talked to seemed pretty knowledgeable. Just FWIW
We are blessed with a powdercoat shop a mile from our shop and he does lots of hot rod and race car parts, Supieror Powder Coating, Wes, 405-330-6212
wheel dock in Stillwater, he uses gloss black on a daily basis, so if you want it black he will do it for cheap because he doesn’t have to change colors. I took them some hood hinges that were in bad shape, they came out PERFECT!. His price quotes over the phone are standard but the less work he has to do like cleaning; blasting ETC. the price drops quickly. Basically if he can throw it on his line while he is working he will treat you right……. 502 Kinnick Rd Stillwater, OK 74074-7456 (405) 743-8080 <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
I had all the dragster stuff done at BA Powdercoating & it came out pretty good, not great, but good. Abitl fucked my intake royally & refused to fix the problem so I will never go back. As for headers, no one here can do them worth a crap. I am on my third coating & they are peeling again. Next time I will use HPC in the OKC
I had 3 sets of 428 cobra jet exhaust manifolds ceramic coated by a guy in Joplin. Very very reasonable and they look awesome. He does all sorts of powder coating. PM me and I'll try to get his name, cant find it right now.
BA Powdercoating does a good job and fair priced. BT Powdercoating in Tulsa is fairly new but he is a racing friend of mine and started his own powdercoat business because he felt no one was doing it right. His stuff is waaaay nice. I have used HPC numerous times and very happy with their exhaust coatings. A friend just wanted to do black small stuff and does it in his garage in an old oven off of craigslist. Cheap and quick if you are on a budget and dont have big items to do.
Jim and Jason Smith at Hot Rod Garage told me they like BA Powdercoating because they can sandblast the parts onsite, and they are reasonably priced.
I have had BA Powder Coating do quite a bit for me, never a complaint. There is a guy in Owasso that does powder coating as a sideline that a friend has used a few times and is satisfied. I will get a name if I can.
MTW Powder Coating in BA. New shop state of the art equipment. The chrome coating looks like chrome. We had him do the chassis and the running gear.
