I love those "little book" features. I've got a couple of early Rod & Custom mags with similar articles. One with 4 pages of hubcaps and a "how-to" article, and one with 18 ( ! ) pages of "Showstoppin' Shoeboxes" as the cover reads. Interiors, tail lights, side trim, body modifications, grilles, etc. it's pretty awesome. Sometimes we can miss out on good ideas when we focus too intently on our vision. Go see what they were doing in the real custom car hobby as it was going on.

Little books should be reprinted. History written as it happened is phenominally interesting. Like the car ads in the 30's Geographics. I have Atlantic Monthly and others from the 1800's and there are some Studebaker ads in there that are hilarious.
