Not hardly,I have Southern ears so at least I can understand what Texans are saying! Thus far the Kiwi's & Aussies I have met sound very similar. HRP
The point is more that Kiwi's and Aussies DO NOT like getting mistaken for one and other. Not that their accents are worlds apart.
Quite a coincidence on his chice of cars, as he and I both have '31 hiboys and '40 coupes! His roadster is perhaps more "traditional" with the Olds engine and my SBC. My '40 has SBF and I didn't hear anything said about the engine in it. But either way, a nice pair of cars and a good philosophy on life.
I love the comment regarding the sea of Gray hairs and Kids getting into the NZ Hot Rod Scene. I'd love it more kids started singing Drag City,Lil GTO,Hey Lil Cobra or 409, Then I'd know they were paying attention just like Chris' Kids were. That had to have been an eyeopener.... Great "Down Under OZ" post Ryan .
Call'em Anzacs. Saves trying to sort'em out! Old Fords are citizens of the world, and don't need sorting regardless of place of birth.
Chris is from Hamilton, New Zealand. He is a member here on the Hamb. I believe that Cal ( hot rod revue) is also from Hamilton.
Hard to tell who is more offended Aussies or Kiwis?. My dad is an Aussie and my mum's a kiwi, so I'm doubley offended. Spoze you damn Canadians just don't know your geography. !
Here, we get Kiwis at the store and call them Gorilla Balls, and thats what Chris has driving that roadster on a dirt track with one arm hanging over the door.
We're different until it comes to hot rods, then we're the same. Love the car, watched that clip a few times now.
Cool! Thanks for sharing the clip Ryan, much appreciated. I met an Australian once, terrifying experience.
