Progressing slowly // Bed is back on the chassis of the 62...

 

Been doing a little work to the ol' beater. 3" lowering springs in the rear, dropped the front 4" via adjusting the torsion bars. Previous owner had more red rustoleum paint than brains so I repainted the nostrils and wheels.

 

Not sure if I've posted this one up or not yet. Picked up a clean 64 long bed almost a year ago. Really clean truck, 283 3 speed, big back window, factory AC, chrome grill & front bumper. Should have been driving it already, but some of my other projects have been taking up my time recently. Plan to give it a tune up, slot mags, new tires, replace the pep boys sparkomatic floor shift w a Hurst and drive it just like it is. Hopefully sooner rather than later...

 

My 1965 C10 SWB -- love the BIG rear window. Wheels are Real Rodder Halibrands.

 

Bought it two years ago finally got her on the road last week. Still havw a long way to go but its gonna be more fun getting there.

Had this '63 about a year now. Previous owner did a great job. I made some minor changes this past year.

Just picked this 65 gmc up a few days ago. Pulling the shell & rack off tonight. Picking up some steelies tomorrow, then on the hunt for a rear flip kit for the leaf spring rear end. Anyone know who makes one? All my others have been coil spring rears...

Don't know if I posted on here or not, but here's mine. 283 pg, getting a 3-4' drop kit and new brakes very soon.

 

Here's my boss' shop truck/ daily driver. It's a 65, has a mild cam in a 283 with a power glide. Front and rear sway bars, 4 wheel disc brakes, power steering, power brakes, ac, etc. It has the cpp suspension kit. Drives and handles awesome. I drive it a lot and have had it for a week one time

 

I want this!

So, my 65 has a leaf rear, in looking for a bolt in axle flip but only find them for the later trucks, I know they're out there, I just can't seem to find one, anybody here know?

if you have leafs then you have a gmc. i know my 63 chevy has coils. see how wide your springs are and see if the later chevy's and gmc's are the same, if they are no problem. i also know when looking for parts and my 63 having the different cab it gets left out on custom parts like headers and lowering kits but it is the same as the 64-66 other then the cab.

 

Just got this one. No plans as of yet other than to get it out of the clouds.

I like the pulpwood truck. looks like it has 19.5 wheels on back and about two cords of wood on the back. I bet the old V6 never has a problem pulling it.

 

any info on what was done with the rocker panels? sheetmetal from a donor car?

Ive got at least 75 60 thru 66 trucks. the two GMC pictured are my daily drivers. The one with the black primer is a 250 six granny 4 speed 1/2 ton. the gray truck with the wagon wheels is a 250 factory powerglide. it has some offenhauser goodies and hedders.
